Is It Better To Repair My Phone Or Buy A New One?

This is probably a question we all ponder when we have our phone broken. Phone repair service or buy a new phone? Which kind of repair service? Shop repair, mail in or home phone repair we come to you?

Analysing the costs involved its a better option to repair rather than replace, especially if its just a samsung front glass repair. The cost of this specialist service is far more cheaper than replacing, and also far more cheaper than opting for a phone repair service which will swap out both the amoled and the glass. As you may have noticed after searching about most repair places dont offer a only samsung front glass repair service and buying in new samsung amoleds is very costly. Very Costly hence why prices are so high. So having a samsung front glass repair service makes a lot of sense.

Also you will save yourself the stresses of looking for a new phone, backing up all your data, waiting for the new phone to arrive, reinstalling all the apps, and getting used to using a new phone.

Also doorstep repair is really convenient. No taking out time from work to visit a place. It comes to you. At FixMyPhoneScreen we offer this service; home phone repair but can be at any place of your choice!

What Exactly Causes Screen Bleeds, Screen Lines And Screen Flickering?

During a cycle out in Battersea London, on a winters afternoon, the worst happened. My Beloved Samsung S10+ had dropped out of my pocket. The impact of the fall had caused the screen to crack. Things seemed fine initially, but as time went on things got progressively worse.

What i didnt notice after i had scooped up my phone from the floor was that there was the tiniest bleed ( which appears as a black spot) to the top right corner. At time went on the small black spot grew. Yes samsung amoleds bleed. Using the phone in the rain presented a bigger problem; the rain water had seeped into the cracks which caused the screen to go a weird  light shade of green. Which came and went.

Then the flickering issues started; and then eventually my phone screen had died and refused to show any signs of life other than random flickering.

Now, i know what your thinking. Why didnt i opt for a samsung phone repair service in London? Theres a simple reason why. Once the amoled had been damaged any samsung front glass replacement service in London would have been void. As attempting to repair any phone with amoled damage only tends to make things so much worse. Replacing the whole amoled and glass was the only way to go.

Now what caused the bleed? The bleed was caused upon impact; when the glass shattered a tiny shard of that glass had penetrated the amoled. Which is a shame, as sometimes the bleed happens and sometimes not. It can still happen after some time if a tiny shard of glass comes a bit loss and penetrates the amoled which is very delicate.

The flickering was caused by excessive moisture entering the phone via the cracks.

Vertical lines are the cause of any impact near the flex cable of the amoled. Since my phone was a S10+ the flex cable is located near the bottom edge of the phone. The impact i had was at the top right corner, so i was free of any lines on the screen.

So how to prevent this? Buy and install a decent tempered glass screen protector. Its not guaranteed to save your phone from a fall but its much more likely. And on a last note, if your one of the lucky ones that have just the front glass damaged its very much recommended to have your phone repair service as soon as possible. Things could get worse, as mentioned the amoled is very delicate once the glass is shattered and just like me looking to have the amoled repaired which costs a lot more or looking for a new phone.

Gorilla Glass Explained

Having been a massive samsung phone fan all my life, i have seen first hand how the phones evolved over the years.

My first samsung phone was a galaxy S3 which i still have in my possession and never sold. The phone was so durable and had survived many drops. There was never a need to worry about samsung phone repair in London.

Over the years and when different generations of the samsung S series came out, the phone finishes got better and better. The materials used in production felt and looked far more premium. Yet i had fell victim of cracked samsung phone ( a S10+ which had fell out of my pocket) which was many several generations newer. So whats changed? Why did this newer model get damaged and my older samsung didnt?

As mentioned over the years the quality of the finshes of the phones have far improved. The screen of my S3 felt somewhat plasticky, and the entire phone was covered in tiny little pocket scratches. Samsung phones now have premium gorilla glass, which is scratch proof and look amazing with a crystal clear display. The back panels are also made of glass rather than plastics.

But in the end its glass. Strengthened glass, but still glass. It was a tradeoff but in my opinion worth it for the quality and the premium feel.

What Causes Screenburn And How To Prevent It?

While getting home in a taxi, my driver had told me off his samsung phone issues. His phone had developed a slight pink tint and background icons had “burned” into the background of the screen and were now always visible. So what went wrong?

Having done samsung phone repair for many years, it didnt take me long to figure out what was the issue. He had the screen brightness turned on to near max while driving about during the day.

Despite what some people may think, screenburn has nothing to do with temperature. Using your phone at max brightness for elongated periods of time will cause this. Unfortunately, it is one of the downsides of amoled technology, but is still visually far superior to lcd screens. And prevention is better than treatment as there isnt any. You may have the amoled replaced at a samsung screen repair service, if things get bad. But if you do, remember to use only max brightness if you only really have to.
